Summer is now upon us, which means it is time to switch out the bright florals of spring for something a little more crisp and breezy for summer. Keep reading to see my tips on how to update your space just in time for summer.
Patterns Are Out
This summer you want to utilize more tonal palettes with minimal use of patterns. For a quick and budget friendly fix I suggest you swap out patterned rugs or curtains for something solid but textured, and stay within the same color family.
In this space I opted for a metallic cream velvet couch but had darker metallic pillows to make it pop!
White Walls, Bold Furniture Shapes & Metallic Accents
Count how many times I say metallic in the post..I mean I love them! I love the look of crisp white walls, a funky shaped couch, and tons of metallic accents placed about. Don’t be afraid to mix your metals; brass, chrome or copper. This will give you a clean airy feel without being to stale.
You can see below where we kept the walls and counter tops white while adding bold furniture to bring life to the space.
Painted Concrete Tiles
These colorful little guys can work in both a traditional or modern space. You can use them as flooring in bathrooms and kitchens or as a backslash. They will add depth to any space.
Feminine Blush
Blush itself is a great color to use in your scheme to brighten up your space for summer, but consider adding it with a metallic like silver. It will add a feminine glitzy glam feel to the space. I have added a picture of a Lili Alessandra bedding set I am in love with. Here you can see how she mixed the blush and silver perfectly!
